Tyrone Brown is serving a lifetime sentence in Texas over smoking marijuana - he has already spent 16 YEARS in jail!

Unbelievable. I read his story in the newspaper and was shocked. The judge justified his sentence by saying it was done 'out of concern for the community'... Mr. Brown is eligible for parole in 2009 - I hope he wins his freedom. As for this judge, he should be removed from office, as he has proven he is unable to perform his duties in a fair and resonsible manner. Sometimes truth is indeed stranger than fiction.

The judge was voted out of office, and has now- along with the local sheriff said he is willing to support the commutation of his sentence... now the same willingness needs to be obtained from the dallas county district attorney, Bill Hill.
